Update

I went to the Orthopedist (spelling?) last Tuesday and he said the bone is making progress.. a bit slowly.. but what can you do? I go back in 6 weeks for more xrays and its likely that it will be healed by then. By Tuesday evening I knew I was in for trouble, my tonsils began to swell up and my ears started aching. For 3 days I had an extremely sore throat, chills, and body aches.. then it seemed I was getting better. My tonsils did go down, but slowly over the course of a few days I developed a worsening cough and my nose became a mucous factory. I think I may finally be getting better.. but who knows. I don't really know what it was.. I don't think it was bacterial because I caught it from Tagan, and she had taken antibiotics for it but it still took the same course, so I suspect it was viral. But I can't really explain how viral tonsilitis turns into a cough and sinusitis. Go figure.. I'm just glad I'm alive.

Deja Vu?

I emailed the foster care recruiter on Monday of last week and told him we still hadn't heard anything. He wrote me back and said that the emails that he sent for us have all been bouncing back to him as undeliverable. So he said he sent an email to some one else and that he also called some one and gave them our info over the phone. He said that if we hadn't heard from anyone by Friday to email him again. Of course as things go, we didn't hear anything by Friday, but I decided to give them a little more time. So we still haven't heard anything and he emailed me today telling me he once again gave the info to 3 more people. I just don't understand what is happening, and I am beginning to get a bit discouraged. I mean I just can't wrap my mind around how many mistakes have to be made to delay this this far. I have a simple, straightforward, everyday request, and no one can or will fullfill it. So who knows if things will ever work out on that front.

In other news I signed up online to be an assistant Girl Scout leader, I was planning to over the summer but then I broke my leg. So who knows. Maybe in a couple of weeks I will be doing that. I am also keeping my friends daugther most of this weekend, and I enjoy that.. its like parent practise.

Progress is Slow..

Well no one contacted us about foster care last week, or this week for that matter. I guess I didn't really expect them too. Josh says that he thinks things happen in their own time, and I think that is somewhat true, however I also think that if you really want something you have to fight for it. I have been very patient for 4 months now, I dont really see how I can wait much longer just for a packet. I mean If I don't hear something by this Friday I AM going to be talking to somebody. In better news I went in yesterday to see the orthopedist because my cast cracked horizontally across the front and everytime I would step it would jab me in the shin.. so they took it off and took Xrays. They said that it is healing but it is not fully healed, luckily they allowed me to wear a removable splint for 3 weeks instead of putting another cast on, I finally got to wash my leg and foot after 6 weeks, and I can tell you, it was not a pretty sight!
